Because a dude just did that in Florida. It's kind of all over the news. Again, just because the rate of drunk drivers killing other people isn't 100% doesn't mean that people should be free to drive drunk (because some of them are "responsible" when they do it, or something). If your hobby necessitates widespread, unlimited access to firearms, it's causing a lot of death. Now I don't think sport-shooting requires that sort of system (they have much tighter gun laws in Switzerland, yet still have an enormous sport-shooting community), but you also seem opposed to any increase in regulations, so I don't buy that your entire defence boils down to "But it's just muh hobby! Don't take away muh hobby!" Noop_Noop posted... But again, Im not a threat to public safety, and again you're making a pretty bold claim that I am.
