There will always be purists, but drawing each frame by hand is impractical and not economical when modern animation techniques get the work done in a fraction of the time with a lot less effort

What's funny about traditional animation purists is how much they hate stop-motion animation. They want cartoons to be drawn by hand, but go on long rants about how stop-motion animation is an outdated practice and animators should just resort to CGI.

I don't know what happened to computer animation. SpongeBob went from traditional animation to computer animation after the 1st or 2nd season, and even though it looked different it still looked good.

Today most 2D animation looks like trash

Literal strawman. I like stop-motion animation a lot, way more than CGI.

Ive never heard of this correlation before dude. I much prefer old animation over modern, and I like stop/motion and cgi.
