For me, it was a nice sunny day, I was feeling good from the Nandos I had during lunch, rolling into gym, was when I encountered a black Friday sale promotion on a nearby store. When I walked, I saw an item that was on sale for a 1000 bucks, reduced from around 1300-1500, i was pretty excited, I was eyeballing this item for a while. Anyways, on the price tag it said the sale would last through the weekends, i thought that was odd so i asked the salesman if what it said about the sale date was true, they assured me it was, but I wasn't convinced, so they asked a co-worker and checked the system, it all revealed that the sale would indeed last through the weekend. I was satisfied by that thought, I had already bought a cheap phone recently, so I figured I'd first try to pawn that off, before picking this up, no biggie. So i came back the next day, looking to pick up the phone, that was assured to me by everyone and their system, would be on sale for the remainder of the weekend, only to find out that the sale had ended and everyone from yesterday, was dumbfounded and was all like, 'sorry not sorry'. From that day onwards, I was dead inside. My faith in humanity was no longer.

I almost died from super bad asthma (nerd alert) a few times as a young child and ended up with anxiety problems even after I mostly outgrew the breathing problems.

There's been a lot of those.

The earliest might've been when I was 6ish and watched my dog and only friend at the time suffer and die horribly.

There was also a time when I woke up unable to breathe for awhile and nearly died.

And another time I nearly died from a storm.

Besides those I guess the rest of my life mostly just sort of blends together in a swirling sea of chronic pain, chronic sickness, extensive nightmares, crippling anxiety and depression.

Went to check on my grandma and found her dead on the bathroom floor.

I suppose the time I was woke up to mine come to inform me my parents were in a pretty bad car accident and both nearly died should probably count. That was a pretty surreal time and my mother was in the hospital for a long time.

In some ways I feel like my life was designed to create a person who has the most negative association with sleep possible.

Saw a guy get murdered in a shopping centre.

I'm kind of assuming he didn't survive, but if he did he was probably brain dead by that point. He certainly wasn't moving by the end of it and his head was bleeding all over the place.

Edit: I also woke up from a seizure in a hospital on Christmas morning when I was a kid. That certainly wasn't pleasant. Haven't had one since and the doctors never figured out what caused it.

Bruh, that is nothing.

I once walked into my shower, saw one spider chilling, thought I'd shoo it way, so I can have a shower, once it moved, literally hundreds of tiny spiders appeared underneath it and made a run for it all across the shower base, now I have an insect spray in every room.

This one time I was running and stopped RIGHT in front of a spider web that had one of those big...what were they called...garden spiders? On it. And my face was so close to it, the force of me having previously been running and stopping right in front of it caused the web to shake and the spider to freak out and scurry away from my face.

I once opened my mailbox to retrieve my mail, when I saw a giant palm-sized spider just chilling, I reflexively went all Matrix on that bad boy, it just stood there.

I really wish we as a people could make the effort to contact spiders collectively and be like, "look, you can go on being you, but can you not do it in direct view within our personal space?"

So many times I've had a spider descend down from the ceiling while I'm just sitting here playing a game or something.

Come on spiders. You can hang out in a corner by the ceiling or something I guess. But don't crawl around me/on me or get up in my business. >_>

because even if most of them aren't really harmful, some are and I'm not some spider wizard that can tell at a glance if this one's bite might kill me or just be an irritation.

Probably realising that any new friends I make will just abandon me sooner or later like everyone else, so it's not worth bothering anymore. I'm happier on my own.

I wish they had, instead they let me stay, I think, as punishment so that my shame could marinate

When I realized I could have slightly tweaked my life by doing small tasks that would have greatly benefited me and put me on a better path.

When I was a kid, my cousin used to pick me up and swing me around a bit all friendly like. I told her I hated her and I wish she'd die. She later did die in a car accident.

Ever since that, I avoid using strong language if I can, and if I get into a fight with someone I try to make up as soon as possible. I think it was yesterday or sometime this week that marked the 20th anniversary of her death. It always feels a little solemn this time of year.

Barehanded. It was a fist fight that ended with his head being kicked/smashed into the wall after he collapsed to the floor.

It was in Ireland. He probably survived, but it was a hell of a lot of trauma/blood and he wasn't conscious anymore.

My family was out on a trip and we stayed at a family friends house.

I was young at the time. Probably like 11.

Well anyways. The adults started drinking and partying it up.

I went to bed early.

As I was asleep I awoke to a loud bang of our door.

In the room I was sleeping in. My mom and her boyfriend at the time were also staying in the room.

Anyways. I hear them kissing and then I'm trying to sleep it off. And then I hear all the sounds that I knew what was going on.

Months later my half sister was born...
