Have seen many mods say it is ok to discuss even emulators in general, and make topics about it but apparently all talk of downloading even in general is off limits.

I think with the moderation changes you are actually allowed to talk about both piracy and emulation here now, but you can't where to get stuff, programs, tell people to do it, or anything like that.

i just read on ask the mods that general discussion of emulators is totally within the rules, haven't heard the mods responses on the downloading subject though

like 2 years ago i saw a person modded for just bringing up the downloading subject

it's not, regardless of what the "rules" say about it, you will get modded no matter what, and disputing to admin will just have allen or devin parrot the original moderation explanation like they do for every dispute to them.

Of course it's okay to talk about emulation. Emulation is perfectly legal.

the number 1 argument people make to arv when he calls them out for illegal downloading is when the nes snes classics were comming out. people were like why waste your money when you can get all of the games for free. arv would got their jollys in a bunch by saying its illegal to do that. then they would make the classic argument "its okay if you own the games" then arvs like you do not own all of them games. and then they'd say its okay cause its freeware cause they didnt renew the liscense
