Lack of training and being conditioned to not act certain ways in crowds I think, but I don't really know how true this phenomenon is to begin with. I think a lot of times when something happens a lot of people are still trying to figure out what is going on

Its genetic, and actually gender based as well.

Women have a much faster response to stress levels due to being the child rearing gender. So they go 0-100 real fast because for 100,000 years a split second decision could mean life or death for their child. The flip side of this is they also stay at the heightened stress level longer.

Men need a specific geneset to have that. The whole 'warrior gene' thing isn't entirely bullshit.

There's a huge difference between me and some of the guys I've worked with in terms of quick thinking. We've had walls let go on the third storey in a bitching wind while craning them in, and rather than DO SOMETHING some guys just stand there and watch dumbly.
