Dude, Firetuner support is built into the game. It does disable achievements to use it, but you can do way more with it than any trainer. Download the Civ VI mod tools and you can use Firetuner if you really want to mess with stuff. Reshape the whole planet if you want.

Immortal is not for me. Playing as Scotland now and everybody's just declared war on me for no reason in the early game. Fuck dat.

Any shame in dropping back down to difficulty level 6?

lol. Yeah, I don't ratchet things up until I've got a strong understanding of the systems and a nation I like being.

I love the "true Earth" and "true Europe" maps. I had one game where I was playing as Germany in the latter and the French and the Dutch were randomly selected and declared war on me around turn 10. I managed to get walls and defend myself and conquer the Netherlands completely before taking Paris and suing for peace with the soon-to-arrive, large French army. Thankfully they accepted. The best part is that was their only chance all game to stand up to me and possibly win. In the end, they lost when their four remaining cities rebelled one after another over the course of a few turns.

I also love the true starter location maps. I like playing as Austria in Civ V on one of those huge Play Europe ones.

The "official" true Earth can be funny, because it's scaled down so small... There have been a couple of games where I could move my warrior in the first turn and take their settler. Sucker!
