Guess what: Most of the country supports more gun control, especially now that we get a new mass shooting every two weeks. That's practical of course, but right wing nut jobs yell and scream about some extreme conspiratorial nonsense and that diverts the conversation away from anything that could possibly be practical. So yeah, Obama wanted to tighten up on gun laws and had the majority of Americans behind him, but instead of doing ANYTHING, we have to play around with the bleating garbage coming from the right.

I remember watching Obama explain at one point near the end of his presidency that he simply wanted to make it harder for bad guys to get guns. Obviously it'll happen anyway because bad guys don't follow laws, but say one single shooting gets prevented at the expense of law abiding citizens having to wait an extra couple days to get their gun...wouldn't that be worth it?
