There were definitely some sea dwelling animals in the Dino period that could give it a run for its money though

I wish we had pictures of cavemen feasting after a mammoth kill. I wonder what form they ate the meat in. Steaks? Just like huge meat sticks with a bone it? Also I like to picture what else they are doing . There was probably alot of dancing and singing to the gods

Technically, we are mammals.

Also, 'prehistoric' covers a massive time frame. At one point, IIRC, most mammals were pretty small. Sort of the reason they survived longer than larger animals that starved due to diminishing food sources during harsh weather periods.

they still often took a caveman or 2 with them in the fight. even if they died, often during the battle, at least one caveman would be lost. and the hunters would return to the tribe with meat but also a fallen warrior.

It doesn't really matter, though, because our main advantage is that we are smart and clever enough to use traps and weapons. Think about it; if you put a man against an elephant, the elephant is going to win, but if you give the man a bazooka, the odds shift pretty rapidly.

I can't help but notice that you're typing in a language developed by the ancestors of cavemen. So I guess the tiny dudes with pointy sticks won.

Sure, but to be fair that's true for reading Germanic languages as well. You can pick up some words if you're reading a foreign language.

The point though, again, is not that it's impossible to decipher, but that it is incredibly different from modern English.
