Jordan Peterson is simply the most recent person right wingers are fawning over even though it's obvious most will worship literally anybody who makes even the slightest perceived attack on 'pc culture' and are happy to handwave every questionable and moronic thing he says to facilitate that.

Pretty much. People fawn over him because they saw him "fighting back" against students about gender labeling, and uncritically accept everything else he says. Despite him being a psychologist who takes psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theory seriously, and regularly spouts evolutionary psych bull.

Note: I'm not saying this behavior is OK, just that it's symptomatic of a bigger problem. All the politicians do it, this guy was just brave/stupid enough to say he was doing it.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but it's not a symptom; it's someone actively promoting that problem. He shouldn't just be dismissed because he's the latest cog in a flawed machine. In fact, pointing out that he is an example of the problem is more effective than pretending it's not his fault he's an asshole.

Petersons allusive style makes critiquing him like trying to nail jelly to a cloud, but I have tried to indicate alternatives to his assumptions about morality, individualism, reality, and the meaning of life. If you go for Christian mythology, narrow-minded individualism, obscure metaphysics, and existentialist angst, then Jordan Peterson is the philosopher for you. But if you prefer evidence and reason, look elsewhere.

the elephant in the room that ardent leftists dont want to talk about is that Jordan Peterson is what pretty much all liberal arts professors sound like, which is a lot of inane theoretical rambling, a conclusion that the professor is obsessed with and everything is connected to, and discussions that seem like they exist on a plane other than the real world.

In this instance he's doing is best to stay neutral, I think. He understands a lot of his fanbase is full of homophobic traditionalists that hate boogie-SJWs, but if he'd outright say "yeah, they deserve the same legal benefits because they're humans, you stupid people" he'd start to alienate his base.

So are you admitting that you only pretend to follow him because you think he's somehow the perfect weapon? How ridiculous is that?
