This moron has been taken this shit for granted for far too long. Covering her bills for the last three months, and she has no sign of improving.

I want to break this lease. Is it possible to just go to the lease office and try it without the roommate? Or do we both need to be there?

I imagine there's some sort of buy out I'd need. But for people who have broken leases, how did that go?

Foster child. Hated foster life. We moved out together. Her credit nonexistent. My credit was phenomenal. I literally helped establish the apartment, phone plan, and helped fund her getting a car.

Because she's a shit human, she's completely self-centered. We agreed she pays utility and we split rent 70/30 me/her. Also 50/50 on phone. I payed full wifi/cable. Come December, she starts make piss poor financial decisions. I'm covering the full phone bill. Helping her get AAA when her tire blew. Helping her pay her stupid ass furniture bill (who leases furniture??? Fucking stupid).

But I don't have to waste money doing this. She's the one with no where to go. I bring up minor concerns and she goes off. She's a nutcase.

Fucking popping pills when we get into an argument. Every single time she starts a convo, it's negative. She's a mood killer.

I don't want to deal with this. I'll be a good Millennial and move back in with mom. Fuck. Sucks cause we were close, but shit.

I don't need credit for anything any time soon. I'm breaking this. No matter what. I just want to know how it went for others.

Are you really saying you don't know the requirements for breaking your lease? Didn't you read it at all before you signed it? -_-

This sounds pretty fucked up. Maybe you should move back with your parents and get your life straightened out a bit.

I've read the lease papers, but there's no mention of how to break it. Just what happens if you don't pay. I was gonna just ask after work tomorrow, but is it not a universal system?

It is. It's making me grouchy and anger. I know she's depressed, but she's also an asshole. I tried, but I can't help anymore.

Then they did a bad job at writing it up. :p Generally you pay x amount per month that's left on the lease (and it's usually almost the actual monthly price you would normally pay). And you'll probably lose any deposit.

This was what it was when I broke my lease, but I wouldn't have to pay the two months if they were able to find someone to take the apartment soon enough. That ended up happening, and I only ended up paying like $40 total to them.

If there's anyway you could find someone to take the apartment, you should see if that's an option to reduce your cost.

Why the fuck did you help fund for her car ?, what made you think paying for her leased furnature was a good idea ?, why move in with a person that is unreliable ??

Did you atleast get to bang her a few times or is she not good looking/too crazy ?

Sounds like you made a big mistake having her as a room mate.

were you two in a relationship? why would you help set her up so much if not? and why would you sign a lease with her and agree to pay 70% of it?

Because we were sharing my one car, which was infinitely more inconvenient. I needed her to get her own, so I could do my own thing. It was a short term investment so that I'd financially be more free later. But she apparently still struggles with bills. I only helped with one payment for the furniture and she's going to pay me back. I didn't anticipate her being as useless as she is.

She's alright. Not really my type. Just a platonic friend.

I did. But I learned a lot of things. Important stuff like cooking and dealing with stubborn people and patience. Good development for me. But I no longer need to grow. I'm fine. Thus I'm ending things once my taxes roll in.

All that bs and you never even banged her, good god no wonder she has been lazy, she doesnt have to do jack shit for you to pay for expensive shit she wants. Congrats on being her bitch btw without even getting something out of it, you have taught her how to sucker a guy in and get him to pay for most of her stuff.

You have a lot to learn especially how to not waste money and not letting people use you to do the heavy financial lifting. I hope you dont make this kind of stupid mistake in the future.

I got things out of this. Whether you value it or not.

I definitely agree on my miscalculation on what exactly is helping her. I think she might be MORE dependent than before.
