It was a shit film that ruined many characters because Zack Synder was never a fan of Superman,and decided he knew better then the source material.

I never understood the hate either, the action is badass. It has pacing issues and isn't perfect for sure but I don't understand the giant dumps people take on it. JL, SS, BvS, I get it, but not MoS.

It was an origin story. We didn't need an origin story.
All the colour was sapped out of it.
The dialogue was flat, and the acting was wooden.
While Henry looked the part, he isn't a very good actor, neither was Amy (Lois).
Too many Papa Kent flashbacks.

It was clearly trying to be
"What if Batman Begins but Superman" and that just really bogged down the movie.

The other thing is that Superman is meant to be more of an optimistic hero. He has a happy family life (which these days is a total rarity in superhero stuff).

Giving him a gritty origin story is lame.

It's better than BvS and Suicide Squad but it's just a charmless and soulless movie. Which is a total fail for Superman. At least the fight scenes were good and the soundtrack is epic. Michael Shannon also did a great job as Zodd.

It was decent enough to watch twice, not like the dumpster fire that was Batman vs Superman or Suicide Squad.

But it's still DC trash that fell in line with 95% of the rest of their movies.

Uh, ok for one thing, Green Lantern is not part of this universe. That movie is pretty bad but it does not count.

BvS is the best superhero movie of all time. It's a fucking 10/10 masterpiece and I don't care what the mindless sheep on the internet say as they try to outdo each other by hating on it more. I don't give a FUCK. It's the perfect launch to a connected universe and got me so excited about everything to come.

Suicide Squad is great in its first half but then dwindles when it gets into the main action. Still overall positive.

Justice League is fantastic and the only negative I could say is how forgettable a lot of scenes ended up being, and I chalk that up to Joss Whedon stepping in and trying to make everything boring and clean cut to be more appealing to Marvel audiences. DC should just stick to their guns and ignore what the moronic haters say because they're going to hate on everything they do regardless.

Compared to Superman Returns this movie was a breath of fresh air. It's what every single Superman movie should have: unwarranted senseless over-the-top destruction in fist fights.

Also, starting over kinda held it back.
