Don't get me wrong, I still drink it because I love being drunk, but only hard liquor because it hits fast and it's less to choke down. Beer tastes like piss, wine tastes like rotten grape juice, and hard liquor tastes like paint thinner, or sweetened paint thinner.

I used to hate the taste of beer when I was 19-20, but I realized that was because I was in college and the only beer people had to offer was the pisswater (bud lite, miller, keystone, etc.) and I didn't know any better

Once I realized breweries were a thing, I learned that good beer is fucking everywhere

My worst was probably 2 years ago at a friend's band gig. I ended up drinking 5 rum and cokes and about half a 26er of JP Wiser's whisky. I don't remember anything from that night after the music besides what I've been told, but somehow I got in my door, down a flight of stairs and into my own bed. I haven't gotten drunk since then.

I hated wine until I had some quality wine. Now I drink it all the time.

I hated scotch until I tried 3-5 different ones and got used to the flavor. Now I drink it regularly.

I hated beer until....well I still don't like it but my wife makes me sip her craft beers constantly so I'm slowly developing a taste for beer.

Point is, if you continue to drink a variety, your tongue will adjust.
