What is inexplicable in it? I remember Devil Survivor being fairly easy to make sense of (although it is really lacking in polish compared to its sequel)

Just seem to get enemies flying in with criticals and beneficial turn priority way too often. Or hitting guys for like 1 hp off a kill and then healing up fully. Stuff like that.

But I guess thats typical smt in general!

I do kinda hate mechanics where you have to steal enemy skills a la skill crack too though

I think what prob makes it more frustrating in srpgs is that you have to restart the entire battle rather than a standard rpg where you can save before a battle or w/e.

Lol I lucked out on one of those tbf where Atsuro got 2 turns in a row so just about killed the last demon.

Difficulty has seemed to spike a bit since beldr appeared for the first time. First I had to compete with the 2 gangster guys to kill demons and now I'm fighting shomankai deserters who seem disproportionately... Strong.

Overclocked adds an extra day to expand the story and fix the redhead girl with the huge boobs route which is different than everyone else's and in the original is the bad end

One of my favorite DS games.

I wanted to get all the characters in the title screen but beating the game like 6 times doesn't seem appealing tbh. Still, great game, enjoy it, TC. I heard the 3DS version is even better than the DS one

The team that initiates combat gets a boost to action speed in that particular encounter. Also remember that some demons have crit-boosting racial skills, which the game loves to spam at you. Staying out of their range and taking them out on your turn is helpful to avoid that shit. Another thing to know is that fighting a battle, even if the enemy initiates it, delays your next turn a bit, so if it feels like you're taking a while to get a turn, that's why. It does apply to the enemy as well (and in fact is part of one of the main ways people kill the game's very nasty new game+ superboss, by using certain racial skills to prevent him from getting a turn)
