That's 3 in as many months, two within a week. The drivers need to unionize and demand proper safety protocols are put in place because Amtrak has been making it clear they would rather spend money training new drivers than actually put in common sense precautions.

Sometimes it's the unions who are the ones preventing the use of better technology, though I don't know if that's the case here. But assuming that unions are automatically the solution is not what I would do, IMO.

When the Washington one happened, it came out that the mayor of Lakewood had implored the company to delay opening the line up, if only long enough to install safety mechanisms. They refused to. Suddenly, the accident.
