Sadly it's true. The gamer community attracts a lot of non masculine men. Masculine men who know they're masculine and act like men don't create cute girl characters that they dress up. It seems like the buzzfeed guy types play with female characters most of the time if not everytime.

You don't see a ton of women creating male characters to play exclusively because women are still feminine.

Sure replaying a game with a female character is fine but that's just to experience the story from a different perspective instead of "omg i just loooove being a girl in-game".

I'm sure it's true some of the time or maybe even a lot of the time, but I don't know if it's true most of the time. personally I probably make males 90% of the time, but I don't know if it's cause i'm a manly man grr or if it's cause it just fits my vision of the character i'm making more. for example when it comes to elves I usually make females cause I just hate dude elves. something human or more monstrous like an orc or something I always go male

Taurens, male

Fairies, women

Undead, whichever looks cooler to me at the time

Humans, usually women, but if the male model has the ability to be real fucking badass towards the end I will go male.

It doesn't. It's just an observation. If you're masculine you tend to prefer more masculine things. If you're feminine you tend to prefer more feminine things.

There are exceptions to the rule but as far as observation goes, it's mostly, majority, non masculine guys who create female characters on average.

Yes but that's my point exactly. You as a man create your characters to fit a certain theme or identity you're trying to create.

The men I'm talking about create female characters for EVERYTHING. Female humans, elves, orcs, creatures, machines etc.

Yes but that's my point exactly. You as a man create your characters to fit a certain theme or identity you're trying to create.

The men I'm talking about create female characters for EVERYTHING. Female humans, elves, orcs, creatures, machines etc.

I consider myself masculine as fuck. Idk, I dont really gravitate to a gender when I have the option. My Dark Souls and Fallout characters are mostly female. My Elder Scrolls and Monster Hunter characters are pretty much always male.

I think for me it depends on which sex has cooler aesthetics in the game. For example I find it difficult to make a male character on New Vegas that doesnt look lame as hell. Similarly, all the female character models in Morrowind look stupid as hell.

Only non-masculine men get upset that men make female video game characters.

Video games should really add more slender options for males as far as armor goes. Kind of like Geralts chainmail armor from the witcher 3.

It looks cooler and is more aesthetically pleasing than super bulky armor. Unless you're playing a berserker/brawler type.

I mean when I make a female character, I do like to make her nice to look at. I have even felt a little turned on while creating my character before. But while playing the game its really not a big deal for me. I mean sometimes ill stop and be like look how gorgeous she is! But even when I make a male character I often do the same thing and think look at how badass I made this guy!

If i want to relate to the character like itsme, i make them male. If i want to play a character that makes choices different to what i would make i typically make them female. A different race as well.

Well, there are a lot of aspects to masculinity but yeah, I dont know why your everyday dude would want to play as a woman all the time in games. Although I dont draw a ton away from just that. Is important to note that often youll have feminine dudes who are straight as an arrow, they mightve just been raised around women exclusively. I think playing a female in a game is weirdest for something like Pokmon...theres literally no chance youll see boobs/cleavage.

For me it is, if I'm gonna spend a great amount of time inadvertently looking at the backside of a character I'd rather have it be female rather than male. Obviously I find badass looking armour pleasing as well but I have a tendency to get bored with looks like that easily.
