Once I was pulled over by the police and my knees started shaking, and the cop got all suspicious asking me why i was so nervous and he put his hand on his gun. I told him I am terrified of police because they are always killing people and he just laughed at me

I look back on some of the interactions I had with cops as a teenager and it's amazing I didn't get assaulted or shot.

I was in the car with my husband at a check point a while back, and they were saying that to him. He stayed super chill though, kept saying Im not nervous very calmly. Cop kept trying to push it Hmm but you seem nervous to me as hes pointing his flashlight at him. But he just stayed very calm. I was the one getting nervous at that point. But the cop let us move through.

They just want to fuck with you and see if youll volunteer info.

They're huge bullies, and we literally can't do anything about it tbh

cops don't often stop and think about it from the other perspective. there is any number of reasons why someone could be nervous, including just the fact that cops intimidate people. but cops never see it that way. that's why I hate them

When I got arrested, the cop opened the door to ask me if I had done anything else(drugs) besides drink that night. They were concerned because how well I was taking the situation of being arrested lol.

I have autism and my parents taught me that if i ever get approached by cops to mention this so they don't kill me. they could very well interpret an autistic mannerism as being on drugs or crazy or twitchy from guilt of a crime

just another reason why cops make me nervous. thankfully I Have never had to speak to a cop

I don't get nervous around cops because I have actually spent time around cops and don't base my entire perception of them on TV shows and a few isolated incidents.

yes. let's baby the cops. the ones with all the power are the ones we need to feel sorry for. the entire society supports the cop's perspective. and that's why they get away with murder all the time. it's the other perspective that needs to be shown. that man who died showing his ID was a man who's perspective was ignored. and society sided with the cop who was "scared" of the man who calmly informed him he had a gun, because the law says he has to do that. and then the cop asked for ID and he got it and then was shot.

Show me otherwise? Literally ever major situation has arised from deadly force or in some sort of situation where a suspect either had a gun in his car and was moving in his car like a maniac or someone reaching for a gun whether it be theirs or the officers

Or some freak accident where a lady was shot in confusion of the suspect last year

But there are no officers just gunning down civilians. If anything it's getting to the opposite

Just from 2017 compared to 2016. My department increased by 25 percent in civilians ambushing/shooting/injuring officers. And I don't mean like a fight, I mean just an unaware officer being shot at or talking to a person, and the guy just starts trying to stab him. Most recently a cop 2nd day out of the academy was shot twice for no reason. This number is expected to rise this year

Yes there has been cops that have done something illegal or killed someone. Just like every fucking job and thing in the world there's good and bad people. My point is that it's extremely rare and nothing at all what you think

I was talking more recent since this what were living in now. Not about the actions of some officers say on Rodney king

But most major outrages like Ferguson and stuff are actually quite fair situations which is the officers aren't in prison. But because you guys have internet mentality and the media you think cops are out here gunning people like it's call of duty

we think you're poorly trained, don't speak out against bad cops in your departments, and give slaps on the wrists (or just move people to different departments) when people should be getting fired. And overall cops seem to be against being held accountable for their actions.
