The genre is pretty popular there too. There was a half joke i heard somewhere in a fallout discussion, the series exploded there because it was so relatable. When fallout 1 was released, the average eastern european could go outside and feel like they are playing fallout of their own.

Their games ended up to be alot more depressing than fallout too, which is an American made.

I think human suffering, desolation and pain really is ingrained in those who live trough the cold war and the rest of communist regime, and their media reflect all that.

That's blowing it out of proportions a bit. But as you said, it's easier to make a game if you actually lived through a lot of that stuff.

Actually, I look at it the other way around. People that lived through wars and hard times appreciate peaceful times a lot more.
On the other hand, you Americans just keep finding ways to be depressed and complain about insignificant shit and most of the American population doesn't know what real struggle is.

It's easy when you're just mimicking real life.
