Yeah, it really only seems like it's been a month or so since it was announced. But that was already an entire year ago.

Famitsu always oversells everything, but their score for this game indicates it's standard quality for a musou game, whatever that's worth to you.

Awesome! 8's my second favorite game, right behind 3.

I can't play it anymore because the artificial difficulty's a bit too much for me to enjoy it these days, but I've got upwards of 230 hours in it. 50 hours on a save file that was eventually corrupted during a storm when the power went out. The save I made after the initial wipe on PS3 likely has just as much time on it, give or take, as I've got on Steam copy which is 110 hours.

Also, just a heads up; 8 Empires is good for its creation and additional movesets, but the game itself is lacking compared to previous Empires games. A lot of cutscenes are recycled, some are in black and white, and there's just less to do overall. As an officer, your ruler never really does anything but invade, if he chooses to do that. You can rise in the ranks and become a strategist or commander, but there's no point to it. They no longer give you the ability to give orders. Unless you're a ruler, those are restricted to your S/O, Sworn Sibilings, and children; whom you can give orders to at any time.
