But, ugh, Im so sick of it. Ive been doing this for a little over eleven years. Its just a shitty retail grocery store job but its fucking exhausting (mentally AND physically).

And I dont even get paid very well. Last year I only made a little over $25,000.

But it has benefits that Im terrified to be without.

Sometimes I wish I could just quit and try for something better. But Im not that impulsive.

Yeah it was never *that* bad where I was like I need to get out but its really been hitting me ever since I got promoted and it isnt worth it. I always thought it was better to play it safe, especially these days.

See, this is the mindset that got me into this situation in the first place.

I always thought it was good enough to just have steady work in the first place, while lots of people are struggling just to find any work.

Plus I had some medical issues to take care of over the past few years.

And also I had actually been enjoying what I was doing at work for the past... three years or so, so I convinced myself that this could be something that wouldnt be so bad.

Id like to better myself, but I dont even know what I should look for. Ive already wasted so much time.

I can understand the mind set of, The only thing worse then having a Job, is looking for one.
That is a thing. Gotta play it smart sometimes. But if something better comes along you should take it.
Also, never jump off the dock before your ship has arrived. Which is to say, don't just quit.

Unemployment is the lowest it has been in 2 decades. Another few fractions of a point and it will be the lowest unemployment since the 1960s. Not to mention wages are rising faster than they have since the 1990s along with bonuses
