I just accepted a job offer over the phone. I have nothing in writing or email. I 'm also supposed to meet with a staffing agency that is trying to get me temp job later today. Is it safe to cancel my meeting for the temp job? I won't have an email until Wednesday about the job offer.

Dont cancel anything until you get it in writing. Youre probably fine, but youd be SOOL if you canceled your meeting and then the employer canceled out.

This. When it comes to work, I don't trust anyone's word unless there's a paper copy of it.

They could easily just say "uh, no, we didn't give you the job" and leave it at that. I doubt it'll happen, but it's possible. Best to not risk it, imo.

You should keep interviewing for sure. The other companies you interview with don't have to know that you have another offer, although sometimes it can be good to tell them to get them to move along faster and so you can leverage your salary. You probably shouldn't try that in this case though because you already committed to one. I'd recommend that if you know you're talking to multiple companies, don't accept any offers until the deadline they give you, and while you wait for that deadline, get in touch with the other companies you've been interviewing with.

It's official now. I got the email giving me details about orientation, benefits, etc.

Another question: Is orientation the same as first day as in my second day is right after?

Depends.
My orientation was not considered my first day of work. Although I was paid for it. I had an academy, that was my first day.
