What? A lot of people had petitions for Vick and also it got to the point in the nfl where they had to run that domestic violence campaign commercial.

Also the Kap thing was just bullshit anyway. A lot of people took it as an attack on the law enforcement (it was) and well theres a huge following of people that back the blue. So yeah when people were tuning in to watch football and everyone is kneeling and then talking about it during the game its going to rub people the wrong way.

Not to mention people also took it as a disrespectful gesture towards the flag

Athletes have always been political.

That doesn't mean that I have to respect their stance. If you protest the flag or the anthem, I'm going to have a low opinion of you. That doesn't mean you don't have a right to oppose those things. That just means you've done the thing that puts you on certain people's shit list.

And, yeah. To the person who intends to rip this post apart, you're only proving my point. You don't have to like my views. I don't have to like their views. You can say what you want to, but it can and will affect the way people see you.

Nah i mean do their arrests and shit. It was literally like every week a football player was getting arrested. Its been like that for awhile too. From stealing underwear, to rape, to dog fighting, pouring bleach on kids, uppercuts...you name it.

Just weird that these players be throwing rocks when their teammate is throwing fists at their wives or driving drunk.

why does that matter? the people who watch the games are more likely to beat their wife than an NFL player.

The main problem with the EMT/Hotel Clerk/etc. examples is that while it's true that no one wants to hear those people's political opinions, those people also don't have media interview requirements, tons of social media followers, so on and so on. You can't really compare service jobs and entertainment jobs in that way.

Skye Reynolds posted...

Protesting the flag/anthem =/= Protesting during the anthem. You can have an issue with what they're protesting, but you're being disingenuous if you're acting like Kaep's protest is "I don't like the national anthem".

There's roughly one arrest per thirty people in the US each year.

52 players in one year (even though 1 a week is a high estimate) is one arrest per thirty two players.

I think it's dated. It's true that the NBA used to have a serious crime problem in the 2000s, up to 2010:

6V8Hymx

The NBA cracked down on that in a big way after the Detroit brawl, and this current generation has been much better with off the court criminal activity.

Y'all really have no bait sense, I swear.

They could have just did what I was doing but chasing after shifting goalposts is pretty fun too, I guess.

I love how you deleted it.

Imagine holding a person's political opinion in high regard because they're overplayed to play a ball game.

I think it's dated. It's true that the NBA used to have a serious crime problem in the 2000s, up to 2010:

The NBA cracked down on that in a big way after the Detroit brawl, and this current generation has been much better with off the court criminal activity.

Yeah i was actually watching that game when it happened lol. Idk if the crimes arent being reported or memorable but i cant think of that many NBA players arrested lately.
