Anyone else who has ever suffered through unemployment would understand this.

The first time since you can remember not having anxiety about going to pay for something and seeing "declined". Being able to do stuff you see other people doing. Just that tiny bit of freedom. Feels good man

*shrug*

I guess I can understand if you're totally broke and had utilities turned off and stuff.

But I honestly haven't been excited about a paycheck since the very first one I got, back in 2002.

At first it was like "oh man I'm gonna be rich" but as soon as I tried and failed to come up with something to spend it on, it was kinda like...

"Dad, can I quit?"
"No."

I'll have that feel in like a week but I had enough savings to live without working for like 2-3 years if needed.

But I liked getting max unemployment with no taxes on it due to my withholdings from my last job. That was nice.
