Estellise - Pacifist, really high social
Wagner - Bodyguard, my main physical bro and hunter
Krauss - Ugly nudist, my researcher and cook

It was my first game, so I messed up a lot but also learned a lot. I chose a terrible spot--barely any trees or animals. Constantly had a severe lack of wood and couldn't make warmer clothes due to the lack of materials. I had some wind energy going for heaters in their rooms, but...yeah.

I loved my three people. Wagner and Krauss were the main muscle, especially since Estellise refused to fight anything or even hold a weapon. Wagner was a gentle soul--despite his violent background and brute force role, he loved to stargaze and meditate. Krauss got along with them both despite being ugly and a nudist, and her and Wagner eventually fell in love and started sharing a bedroom.

Things were going ok, all things considered. The winter would have destroyed them all, but things happened earlier when I sent Wagner, Krauss, and Four (refugee, there so briefly I forgot her name) on a caravan to take out some bandits. Four died of cold exposure on the way, and when Wagner and Krauss got to the bandit camp, it wasn't the 2-3 I was expecting, but around 8. They died quickly, at least, fighting and dying side by side as lovers should.

Estellise was left all alone then, the sole survivor, pacifist. She was trapped inside for a day when a wolf went mad and attacked the entry, but the wolf eventually calmed down and stopped as another wolf self-tamed itself and Estellise named him Salvadore. Some worm things and mega spiders invaded my living area when a cave revealed itself, leading to Salvadore getting injured several times and Estellise barely being able to go outside.

She eventually was able to save someone named Beldram, who had 3 raiders after him. While they couldn't fight, thankfully the raiders fell to the megaspiders and they were able to get a few extra supplies and a prisoner, Caeldum. Things were..kind of looking up. Estellise wasn't alone, despite having to care for two bed-ridden fellows and a wolf that couldn't fight off the invading monsters.

Then, Estellise got sick. Got hypothermia, which got infected, and she was unable to care for Beldram anymore. They were both bed-ridden until they slowly died of various injuries and infection, leaving behind a prisoner trapped in his room and Salvadore.

I hope Salvadore at least escaped the area and found a better life. I regret sending them out on that caravan...all three of them were buddies and so happy surviving together. ;__;

Don't blame you guys for not responding. It's not a funny RimWorld story, I don't have those yet. But I love how differently things can play out, and it was emotional for me. ;_;

I subscribed to a few QoL mods and I'll start a new game later today. Somewhere with goddamn trees.

Yeah my currently colony has this prisoner who refuses to join so I end up using him to test the effects of drugs. If he doesn't eventually come around I might use him to practice surgery and up my doctor's medicine skills.

I've seen it compared to Dwarf Fortress a lot, as well as Craft the World and the new Klei game, Oxygen Not Included.
