Current Events > Is it just my imagination or does Soul Calibur look more anime than it used to?

I remember back in Soul Calibur 2 the graphics looked super realistic. There was a touch of anime to the art style but the character models still looked real and gritty. So did the environments.

Then Soul Calibur 4 came around and all the characters look too clean and overly-shiny. They all got big anime eyes and spiky bright-colored hair and the boobies got too big n' bouncy instead of having a modest realistic jiggle.

The new one looks good so far but the art style is just more of the same from SC5.

Do people prefer this? Am I imagining things??

That's the thing! SC2 Ivy is modest as fuck when compared to SC5 Ivy.

Looked at her realistically-huge boobs. And her armor covers up most her body except for her thighs and chest.

In SC5 She has comically-huge anime tiddies that bounce like zero-gravity craziness. And the armor that covers her body was cut significantly. Giant under-boob window and both ass cheeks hanging out of a literal thong. She looks even more like a stripper than she already did.

In SC2 she was a classy seductress. In SC5 She's just NAKED!

I'm calling it now, the anime dude (Groh or whatever) is some sort of time cop or cosmic agent. He can teleport, his title is "Agent in Black", and he says shit like "You will be erased". I feel like this is gonna follow an MK9-ish retcon.

I guess they're just following trends, anime aesthetics tend to look nicer than a "realistic" aesthetic which is probably why they're taking the series in that direction.
