Walked out of gamestop and decided to check out target. As I was walking, this cute girl asked where i was going. I said target. She then asked if I was buying something for my gf and I said no I don't have a gf. Then she opened her bag and asked me if I wanted to buy some makeup. I repeated myself and told her I don't have a gf. Then she said well you can buy these makeup for your mom or your aunt. I told her to get the fuck up outta my face.

Then she left.

Mall kiosk vendors are the worst. I really, really hate being unfriendly but they have made me unfriendly to all mall kiosk vendors.

I had one guy come and put his hand out like he was going to introduce himself and shake my hand so I go to shake his hand and he whipped out this thing and polished one of my finger nails and then he was like "It's clean isn't it? You wanna buy the kit?" I was equal parts impressed at how polished the nail was and pissed off that he first of all touched me like that and secondly polished just the ONE nail. Just left though.

Few years later had some Israeli woman who was being all friendly and stuff and I was being friendly back because I hate seeing people blabbing on their phones and waving people away without so much as a peep. But I just told her I wasn't interested in the perfume or makeup or whatever she was selling and she just instantly dropped the friendly act and called me something and turned to talk to her friend. I was like wth.

So yeah screw those people (sorry if you work at a mall kiosk).

Overly aggressive sales tactics aren't suddenly acceptable just because the person doing them is "trying to make a living." You wouldn't accept that kind of behavior from a Comcast sales rep, so there's no reason to accept it from a kiosk worker.

i remember this one time in london i was pestered by these mall kiosk people selling nail buffing kits

they were telling me how good my nails would look and that the shine would last through cooking, cleaning, etc...

They're the mall strippers. It's sort of like a secret menu kind of thing. You have to ask first.

I would say "overly aggressive" is if they start following you around, or they grab you when you try to walk away.

Just opening a bag because you don't know how to walk away is not really overly aggressive.
