The strange thing is that according to the Wiki article, the number of peace lines has roughly tripled since the early 1990s. The Troubles ended in 1998, so that means the number's risen as the violence has fallen. But how the fuck you think they're something new when they first went up nearly 50 years ago is a different question entirely.
