After the last presidential election, it's hard to assume what's going to happen at this point. We haven't had a one term president since H.W. so Trump could be confident with that fact. However if he wants to keep his position, he may want to show that voting him in wasn't a mistake. He won with a slim victory over Clinton, but he hasn't been seen as very favorable to the US or other countries. He's less eloquent than Obama and too many progressive black folks saw through him back when he was starting up in Newark. He was backed by right wing money when he started and so any semi-serious look into his background would get him torn apart in the Democratic primaries. I don't see the DNC backing him. The Dems best chance is still currently Michelle Obama, but she is not interested having just got $60 million for that book deal and her privacy back. She is loved by many, gives good speeches, and understands the true role of the presidency and how the game is played. But again she is not interested so the dems are looking into their other options.
