So, I just recently had the need to want to watch Death Note, my personal favorite anime show of all time ever. And the other other anime that I ever saw as well was Fooly Cooly. Haven't gotten around to watching much of anything else since I know im probably missing out on a lot. So needless to say, next up would probably be Fullmetal Alchemist. Not brotherhood. Just the original show. I kinda remembered seeing one or two episodes back in the day and I was really interested in it at the time, but never been fully developed into it as I was into Death Note at the time. Seriously...that show captivated me like none other, hehe. But anyways, I just recently bought a complete collection of Fullmetal Alchemist and was wandering if teh show is as good as everyone says it is?

Other then those three... what other anime shows that have a good story through character development and all of that?

Watch the original FMA if you wish. It's not bad, but seriously watch Brotherhood soon after. It's so much better toward the middle and end. You're missing out.

Black Lagoon (series), Cowboy Bebop (series), and Arise: Ghost in the Shell (5 semi-connected movies) are good bets that are easy to find (I'm pretty sure you can watch all or most of them on Funimation's official website, but only on PC with your browser, it's ad-supported. Their app has a subscription fee).

Just go to any top ten list or something, though I'm not sure how hardcore you wanna go because there's quite a line between something like Clannad (and the sequel) to Madoka Magica then everything in between and/or beyond.

Psycho-Pass? closest thing I can think of but that's more cyberpunk.
