It's a bit of a confusing mess. Divinity 2 is the old one and has no relation except for being set in the same world. Divinity Original Sin 2 is the new and good one everyone is talking about and for good reason too.

The full title is Divinity: Original Sin 2. Divinity II is really old.

They're probably talking about Divinity Original Sin 2, which is recent.
There have been a few things that might lay claim to "Divinity 2" without elaboration. There's Beyond Divinity, sequel to Divine Divinity. Also, Divinity II had a few releases, as Ego Draconis and later Dragon Knight Saga (included expansion content) and the Developer's Cut. ... Copied to Clipboard!
