These tech giants suffering from illusions of grandeur are rotten to the core. Such people actually believe they can do social engineering on normal people because they "know better."

They need to be destroyed. And they will be.

161 pages of extremely well documented, written evidence of discrimination. Google is going to have to pay some good money, and hopefully this is the beginning of the end of this nightmare for humanity that google's monopoly on the internet was.

Not all of it, but judging by what I've read, it's pretty obvious discrimination.

The majority of the evidence are quotes by google managers.

Me, typical internet conservative: I've never seen any evidence that women, PoC, or LGBT people are discriminated against.

Me also: This smattering of irrelevant nonsense somehow proves that conservatives are discriminated against.

Okay so now that we've successfully killed indie games, jailed Hillary Clinton, cleared all the pedophiles out of Washington and Hollywood, and now destroyed Google, what's next? Seems like all the big stuff has been solved already

Crazy coincidence that your light skimming of 161 pages got you the same stuff as summarized lists that someone else wrote. Great minds thinks alike!

I skimmed the first 50-odd pages of the complaint.

Some of the allegations seemed like they have no business being in a lawsuit.
- Liberal Google employees sometimes blocked conservative co-workers on social media - well, if it's their own private social media, that's their right
- Liberal Google employees expressed disapproval of conservative co-workers (with varying degrees of vitriol) - First, if the employees were speaking in their own private capacity, again, that's their right. Second, I am willing to bet the plaintiffs don't come to the table with clean hands and there was plenty of mudslinging on both sides. It's not a great working environment (for either side), but it shouldn't be worth a lawsuit.

The complaint also alleges that various Google employees were creating "blacklists" of people they refused to work with, based on their expressed political views. I have mixed feelings about this (from a personal perspective; I suspect it's not actionable but I'm not an expert). On the one hand, I think politics and work should be separate -- whether you agree with someone should have no bearing on whether he's selected for the team. Like, get the 10 best coders regardless of their political affiliation. On the other hand, if someone has gotten loud in political drama and proved himself a raging douche (regardless of which side he's on) then I can totally see "I'd rather not work with that dude" as reasonable.

I guess this is kind of a false dichotomy because some people see merely having certain political views as being evidence of raging douchery, which is (on its face) what the complaint is all about.

The strongest allegations in the complaint seem to be those about race/gender-based hiring discrimination, like the (anonymous) dude who was (allegedly) qualified but passed over solely because of his race/gender. But I'm not willing to pass on those without hearing the other side of the story. (especially the dude being anonymous seems shady -- I get that he wants to protect his position but you can't prove any of the claims unless the guy comes forward)

some "yikes" territory stuff in there. This whole "we don't tolerate ideas" angle is an unfortunate response.

Glad to see the reasonable people speak out this time. If one only reads the responses from the usual suspects, one would think this board considers such oppressive, totalitarian behaviour as seen in google as normal.
