He doesn't sound like that bad of a choice considering some of the people suggested (Oprah, the rock, etc).

None of it matters if Bernie runs as he wins the primary guaranteed and very likely the Presidency. EDIT: Doug Jones SCREAMS VP more than anyone else in a very long time. The seat is going to be almost impossible to keep(assuming Moore somehow doesn't win the primary again) while he is just the kind of person to counter the more left wing of the party. --- ... My hunch: If the field is Sanders and a bunch of people who aren't Warren, Sanders is winning. Warren would be the only likely candidate who could split his vote, whereas there's much more overlap in the potential audience for Booker, Biden, Harris, etc. The main question is about Sanders age and health, and whether those prevent him from running.
