My hair is a pretty nice length atm actually. I train BJJ and long hair gets way too hot so I had it cut not long ago.

Seeing a movie is not a good first date idea. Idk if this is your first date or not, but a movie is bad because you're not going to be able to talk very much.

Oh yeah...And no, not my first date, just been a while. I suggested sledding since it's nice out here but we don't have sleds.

so like compliment something about her when you first meet. she probably spent a long time figuring out an outfit, so a simple "oh that blouse really brings out your eyes" can go a long way.

last first date I went on I brought flowers and she put out first date, but I knew her for a long time and the first date was trying to get her out of the friend mindset. normally I don't do flowers. so that sort of thing I would say is highly situational.

clean your car and get an air freshener.

don't treat it like an interview. Try to relate to things she is saying, don't just keep asking questions.

feel free to tease her a bit.

avoid lying but don't feel the need to tell the entire truth on a first date.

This is sound advice. I remember doing these things when I used to date more regularly. Girls want to know you care more than anything I found. Obviously not too much considering it's a first date.

Ahh, I don't think it's happening now unfortunately. The same thing that always happens to me seems to be happening. I get into endless conversation about common interests that, for some reason, never materializes into a date or meeting up.

I didn't use the word date, but I asked her to a movie which I thought was a subtle way of saying the same thing.

what exactly did you say?

so I always go with something forceful. "I would like to take you out this Saturday" rather than "would you like to go out with me this Saturday?"

I've been told on multiple occasions the way I asked a girl out was really well received and may have even helped change her mind.

this is an online thing? I would probably go "I will meet you at the theater at X:XX. Unless you want me to pick you up?"

I also don't do online dating, I date co-workers or women I randomly meet at stores or parks or the likes, so may be a bit different online.

i would probably throw it out there as an option but assume she would want to get there herself.

you have anything planned for after? drinks or coffee or whatever? you won't connect much over a movie so talking after could be good. or talking before if you don't want to see a movie with a stranger.

Lol. On a serious note, does "..." after things generally mean they're hinting at something? She just texted me (she gave me her number) and was like "I should probably eat lunch..."

Also, she loves Zelda and I have several shirts....would it be way too nerdy to wear one?

no. well, at least if it does i have never deciphered it. i guess if anything i take it to mean they are running out of things to say. so use it as an opportunity to flirt or change the subject or whatever.

re: Zelda shirts, i wouldn't wear one but there have been plenty of guys who do wear stuff like that and still get action so its probably up to you and how you think she will react.

I mean, she said she loves Zelda but I don't want everything to be about that. Probably go with a nice shirt and some khaki pants I have.

sounds like a good choice. just make sure everything fits well. jeans that fit right would look better than loose fitting khakis (just saying that in case you rarely wear khakis and have something that may be a few years old, if they fit well nothing wrong with khakis).

So we got there late and ended up seeing Jumanji. You were right, a movie isn't a good first date at all. We were connecting and talking fine in the lobby and then the movie kind of ruined that. Whole time I was wondering if she wanted me to hold her hand, but I'm not good at making any kind of move no matter how small and we sat right next to a mom and her kids any way.

Movie ended late and we were both tired so we went our separate ways after, but I gave her a hug and thanked her for the fun time. She seemed like she wanted to hang out again, wanted to know if I would call/text her.

Overall not bad. I'm actually kind of glad nothing happened. All of my previous GF's I was intimate with on the first date and it made the relationship get old fast (along with spending way too much time together).

I could kind of tell actually. She kept taking her hands in and out of her coat and moving them around. Could kind of tell she was waiting for me to reach out or something..I'm just basically borderline handicapped at receiving signals sometimes. This is basically me:

https://goo.gl/images/Fr3zGV

My previous girlfriends all complained that they always had to initiate fooling around and told me they wished I was more confident and hoped I would make moves more often. I just have this irrational fear of rejection or misinterpreting a signal and making things awkward.

Well you're aware of it, now the next step is to start trying to act on it. You don't have to go straight for grabbing them by the pussy, but hand holding and just touching them in general, girls like that.

the good thing with the whole enthusiastic consent thing is you can say shit like "I'd really like to kiss you right now" and have it not be weird.

I don't play the stupid texting games. if I want to see her again I text her the next day, say I had fun and would like to see her again.

ive probably driven away some women by not playing games but most women seem to like it.

girls, not so much, dating in HS sucked, but once they hit 25 or so women seem to love this approach of no bullshit games.

Yeah, I think she was kind of bummed we just watched the movie and didn't get to hang out. She's on a 4 day vacation from work and I think she was looking for someone to have fun with. Going to text her today and tell her I had a good time. She's cute and we have a lot in common, I'm definitely interested in her.
