Never got more than two episodes into it many years ago. Watching it now and it's so weird how it's like the CW version of Shameless or Breaking Bad.

Also I don't know why she is selling marijuana so I legit give zero shits about her character at all.

The soundtrack is embarrassingly expository.

Was this show cringey when it originally aired or was it cool

Seriously though, shows should have a hard limit of like five or six seasons tops nowadays. Most are rarely good for even that long.

idk we love Shameless. I'd be watching the newest season if friggin' Amazon were selling it (iTunes sells it but Amazon doesn't, you need the Showtime subscription).

Don't see how it jumped the shark. Fuck some of the stuff with Steve was more absurd than recent shit. It's always been over the top. Also it has at least 3 more seasons of the original version to draw from.

I loved the American Shameless the first time watching through. I rewatched again with a friend so she'd be caught up and I actually disliked a good amount of it the second time through. Haven't seen the latest season yet.

That and Kevin Nealon, he's fantastic.

And while I agree there was a drop in quality after season 2, it was still decent save for a few seasons which were borderline bad. The last season was decent and the last episode was a nice sendoff.

Shameless is helping to make up for Showtime ruining Dexter steadily after season 4. Didn't it premiere over here just a couple months after that season ended?

I tried getting into Shameless but there's just way too much gay stuff. It's like the gay kid became the main character, and every scene he's in is some sexual shit with other dudes.

I don't know about PG unless you're particularly desensitized to sex (maybe it was cut for TV in some places?), it tried to be darkly funny and that didn't always quite work out but it was fun for the most part. It was never going to win any awards but I enjoyed most of it.

There's some good humor in it, but for the subject matter it feels a bit disjointed. Also srsly why is she selling weed I feel like I'm missing something there. Is it because the dad is dead and they need money to live in that expensive ass neighborhood?

I guess I'm desensitized a bit because of the content in other shows I watch.
