Do you like this clock layout?

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/7Wl7krAQ3F5CX92uEJ-_J2sF9OEYnAHGSWKD7s9pFcrA-lxUGI5iHmUbV2XOHWHqPGw=h310

And if so, say why.

I personally think it is the stupidest thing ever and the person who designed it should never be allowed to design a lock screen clock again.

Looks nice and fills up empty space if you have a plain homescreen. It would depend on the wallpaper.

Why do you even need empty space filled? Leave it empty. I would rather have a regular normal everyday clock that I can instantly tell what time it is instead of go, What?

You don't "need" it filled, you "want" it filled because you think it looks nice. Especially if your wallpaper is bottom-centric (for instance, an attractive lower-half with a plain empty sky or something).

It's just 4 numbers. I have no idea how you would have trouble telling time on that no matter what the layout of those 4 numbers are.

I don't see why it's confusing, assuming it's indicating 4:08 PM, and not 8:16.

At a quick glance it is confusing, you have to think about it. If it was a regular layout, no thinking needed. Why add an extra pointless step, when you don't have to?

At a quick glance I see in giant font "16:08". I am in no way confused by this unless I don't know military time, in which case I would just change it to regular time.

Not talking about 24 hour time. Talking about the stupid layout of the 16 being above the 08. Instead of right next to each other like normal. Not even sure why you thought I was talking about the 24 hour style. I was clearly talking about the stupid vertical clock.

I don't find it confusing at all, and it is rather easy to read at a glance. But if you really have an issue with it, I'd wager your clock has settings you can mess with to make it look the way you want.

Marginally less quickly than if it simply said 02:47.

Because it's hard to understand why you find the vertical separation confusing, so people are looking for other potential reasons.

Cause it is stupid. 24 hour time isn't stupid. A pointless vertical clock that has no option other than finding a new theme, which is hard to do actually since many of them still use the stupid vertical clock, and one that is free to change the layout.

I'll be real honest this sounds like an issue with you and not the clock. As I said earlier my phone displays the time this way and it most assuredly does not take me an extra second to figure out what it means.

Not pointless. The font would need to be markedly smaller to fit in the traditional format. This format is coming from the fact that your display is taller than it is wide.

Does the font need to be that large? I mean it is a phone clock, not a wall clock. Is there some reason it needs to be that excessively large?

It's a style you don't like so move on and get a different widget. People like different things. My widget is an analog clock that is less functional than a digital clock but I like the look of it and there's already a clock in the status bar so the pleasure its aesthetic gives me is worth it.

I always bought digital watches, so wouldn't. The only reason I would wear a watch with hands is for fashion, but then I don't give two shits about fashion, so never bought one.
