In reality she was probably just off her meds and had some kind of psychotic break.
Then I'm guessing the whole "water tower was always locked and she was found in it closed but it would be impossible to close from the inside" detail was either straight up bs or was one of those things that gets falsely stated as fact or distorted/added to the more times it gets retold. --- "It's Canada, their idea of rioting is a half-muttered swear word." - deathbeforelife ... Seems like the door is open a long time. She could just use th close doors button the hotel is very run down. maybe it was malfunctioning. or a ghost was keeping it open. the whole thing is weird. I would never stay at that hotel. it's either haunted or just really crappy. apparently there was also a famous serial killer based out of the hotel in like the 30's or something. he lived there I think and preyed on the guests ...
