How are they doing socially at this point in their lives?

My dad probably does. He was always the kind of dude that could get friends pretty easily, kinda laid back, humorous.

My mom was always too lazy to get off her ass and do stuff, so I doubt it. Pretty much everyone in my family has turned their back to her anyways.

Wouldn't know for sure, haven't seen either in a long time though.

My mother works like almost every day, has barely any days off, or vacations. My father has only his brother, sister and parents. If my father didn't have siblings he'd have no social life at all.

Seems like older you get, more alone you will be if you're not married, though i don't know how many people are actually happy in marriage after few decades, more like learnt to cope with it.

Mom's a bit of an introvert. That's probably where I get it from.
Dad is the most social guy I know. Guy is friends with everyone. I legit don't think he rubs anyone the wrong way

my parents still have a pretty good relationship with each other, and they're also good friends with basically all my aunts/uncles (many of which live nearby) so they visit a lot with them. As far as friends who aren't related goes, though, I think I could count them on one hand

My dad keeps in touch with people over the phone or through the internet mostly. That's more because he retired and moved out of state to a small town than him being introverted or a social recluse.

Mom's basically a shut-in, although she was talking to a lot of people online on a forum about ferrets (she's been obsessed with them for a few years now and has 5).

My dad meets people at therapy occasionally and goes gambling with them lol, but other than that not really.

It's a bit sad, I think they likely get pretty bored.
