'Straight' dudes have been having sex with other men since well before western society got it in it's head that exclusive heterosexuality was the way to be. So it's not that we're trying to turn you gay. It's that we know this '100% hetero'' BS is an normative affectation performed for other 'straight' dudes and that if most dudes want sex enough and suspect they can get it without negative consequences, they don't care if their sexual partner is a man. Exhibit A, Craigslist. I don't have sex with people who can't be honest with themselves about their sexual desires, because who needs that kind of drama in their lives? It's hard enough to manage my own thought and feelings. I think the larger issue though comes from labels and the importance we assign to them that leaves so much of these men wrapping themselves up in knots Also gay men are a cult of masculinity. Anyone who can perform the attractively masculine aspects of 'straight acting' has a certain amount of sexual capital. There's an obvious logic to this: 'men who like men logically like more masculine presenting men.' On the other side It's often not a good thing; there's quite a bit of toxicity that falls out around these attitudes. There's also quite a bit of self-loathing, body image issues, steroid abuse, etc. I personally try to be aware of these biases and avoid putting these kinds of representations of men on too much of a pedestal, in part because I don't want to fall in the negative thought patterns of those of us who do, and also because the internet has made these 'perfect men' so available at lot of the novelty has kind of worn off.
