But really, I think it's best that the force was explained this way. I get that Star Wars is more of a sci-fantasy but having legit magic is still out of place. It's a way to ground the concept in some sort of explanation because having none at all makes it literal magic.

I just don't think it's fantasy enough in other aspects for magic to fit in. The only other fantasy thing is having prominent melee weapon usage.
