But really, I think it's best that the force was explained this way. I get that Star Wars is more of a sci-fantasy but having legit magic is still out of place. It's a way to ground the concept in some sort of explanation because having none at all makes it literal magic.

I just don't think it's fantasy enough in other aspects for magic to fit in.

The only other fantasy thing is having prominent melee weapon usage. Other than that it's pretty much regular sci-fi.
