Movies

Godzilla '98 - There are two Godzillas, one male and one female.

Iron Will - The bad guy dog sledder's dogs turn on him after he abuses them once too often, but he regains control in time for a dramatic final showdown with the kid across the finish line. The former actually happens, but the bad guy doesn't show up again.

Mortal Kombat - I remembered Liu Kang's final attack being a flying kick, not a fireball.

Lethal Weapon - When bad guy Joshua is asked why he doesn't just refer to his product as heroin, he replies "When we show up to deliver our HEROIN..." This is based on an exchange in the movie, but he just says the word like normal. He doesn't punctuate it or make an irritated "Are you happy now?" expression like I remember it.

Video Games

Super Mario Bros. (NES) - There's a green trampoline which will cause you to fly above the screen. It's true that there is such a trampoline in the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 / The Lost Levels, but that one wasn't released on the NES in the west.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Mario has an enemy koopa which has the wings of a para-koopa and a single spike on its shell.

Assorted Media

Flash Gordon - I remember the characters carrying flaming swords -- the presumable inspiration for the light sabers from Star Wars. Yet, I'm wrong. In movie and comic alike, they're just regular swords.

Another one under the movie heading.

In Disney's Aladdin, there is a heavyset guard. The captain of the guard tells him to be alert and also condescends him about not eating while on the job. As soon as the captain's back is turned, the heavy guard pulls concealed snacks from his pockets and comically chows down on them at a furious pace.

This memory is so vivid that I legitimately thought this scene had been cut from later home video releases for being offense to heavyset people. Yet, I have a VHS copy of Aladdin from 1993 and the scene is nowhere to be found.
