Current Events > I might want a Civ V Fantasy Mod. Recommendations?

I played two games and enjoyed them but didn't finish either of them, and randomly got a thought that that could be fun.

Are there any fun fantasy ones you recommend?

there was one i used to play that would spawn wild animals, trolls, ogres, dragons, etc. instead of barbarians and you could get 1 hero per era that was super powerful. let me see if i can find it.

it does change the game a good amount because the dragons can lay waste to civilizations.

unfortunately the game won't open for me so i need to look through the workshop to try to find it.

Hm, not big on the dragons, reminds me of SimCity where I always turned off disasters since things suddenly going very wrong outside of my control wasn't very fun for me. >_>

It had something like all-stars or heroes in the name but I couldn't find the right one on the workshop. Possible it was a download off like civfanatics or whatever that site is called

Oh that's really fun. I'm not sure I want one that's a specific existing fantasy thing though. At least, not one I've played the actual ones of.

Same problem as above, though I am guessing that the modder used assets from FE:H.

Although it might not be reasonable wanting it to be an original fantasy concept. >_> Might not be a thing people do.

I'd heard of faerun but it seemed to be a lot of old stuff about it being WIP. I should see if it's done.

I feel like I would need more than just civs.

Attempting on getting it set up. It's just a bit slow since I have a hard time switching between Civ and anything else going on on my computer, such as the internet. Going from fullscreen to windowed did not help since it still cuts out my task bar. Will probably need to keep fiddling.

Okay, some parts are loaded in, other parts of Faerun are not. Troubleshoot time. No other mods are loaded aside from the three I need for this, and let's try the other DX. Nope. It's the most recent version, so the last thing left to try they suggest is deleting the cache.

Well, SOME Civs have their bonuses now at least.

Seems the problem was trying to use both the BNW and GNK versions of Faerun at the same time.

I am... not sure how to fix this. Or if I'm just supposed to use one. It's been a long time since I did play, but aren't expansions usually somewhat self contained? I'm worried if I just used one there'd be some vanilla stuff that was added in the other expansion clashing with stuff.

Looks like a big one was underway but the project was dropped, unfortunately.

Meanwhile, it looks like one doesn't place people to spots in cities in this mod, or I totally forgot how. Or you don't have to in the very center of a city. I guess we'll see.

Now I'm wondering about choosing science paths, since that might be just automatedly progressing? Since I'm not having to pick anything and I'm still getting new options.

I think that is the one I played and liked. Looks like its based on heroes of might and magic. However I am not subscribed to it so i'm not sure. It is 5 star rated at least.

Though I'm seriously stuck on one of my victory conditions. No idea how to control a cult center.

Honestly Faerun is so big I'm surprised I wasn't able to find a guide or a wiki dedicated to the mod to tell me what the heck that last Good victory requirement is.

I stopped playing several hours ago out of frustration on being clueless on that and now I'm worried I won't finish this round either.
