I have a GTX 780 MSI up to 1000MhZ 3GB memory

I think I may want MSI again but not sure. To GTX 1080 but not sure if Ti is worth it.

What should I get.

I may also get a 144hz screen

If you get a 144hz 1440p, an ultrawide, or a 4k, a 1080 or 1080ti are worth it. For plain 1080p though just get a 1060 or 1070.

Also wait if you can cause gpus are expensive at the moment because of crypro mining and the ram shortage.

I've found via camelizer that gpus are cheapest on amazon during July, dunno why

New tech in general tends to launch in summer so old stuff goes on sale

If you want 144hz and occasionally 4k on your TV then go as high as you can comfortably afford to go. Swing for the Ti if you can, it's worth the added cost, but a 1080 is still good too.

But what CPU do you have? And how much RAM?

If you upgrade the card but have an average monitor youre going to want to update the monitor. Happened to me! Its just an extra cost to think about.

The other thing you should look for is your Mother board compatible with a 1080. And the size of your case. New graphics card hog space for its size and for good cooling/air flow.

I have a MSI Z97 Gaming 7 mobo, my case is allright, the cooler I installed in the past year takes a bit space but I think a big card can have room.

So if I get a 1080Ti, I'm not sure what brand to choose, I can get a MSI cheaest, has
11 GB GDDR5 RAM
11016 MHz memory clock speed
1531/1645 MHz GPU clock speed

I already use MSI GPU and I can use it's programs and stuff with it.

Oh alright, just wanted to make sure you weren't dealing with any potential bottlenecks for 4k but yeah you're good to go.
Personally I'd say a 1080 Ti is worth it if you can swing it without breaking the bank. The 1080 is still very capable but if you also plan to keep the card for awhile like you did with your 780, I'd suggest going for the Ti for a better experience both now and in a few years.

1080 Ti is the one you want if you want to game in 4K comfortably with settings turned up. It will be nice for 144Hz as well.

I ordered MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GAMING X version.

It seemed to best fit for me, just a little factory OC than the cheaper one. I want MSI, and it has the ports I want and it fits my case well, also it goes well with the red themes I have on my PC parts (except my cooler that has a milky brown color on the fans)

Not at 4k. At the current tech of GPU's, they're not powerful enough to run 4k and introduce CPU bottlenecks, it's actually currently the other way around if anything where the CPU is waiting on the GPU.
You could throw a 1080 in a $60 G4560 system and then throw it in a nice i7/Ryzen 7 or just for the lol's even an i9/threadripper for games and the performance will be pretty much the same within a few frames which could even just be margin of error.

However going back to lower resolutions like if he wants a 1080p/1440p @ 144hz set up then that's when it would become an issue where he's missing performance compared to the newest i7's with better ICP, core count, and overall performance. At lower resolutions, that's when CPU's can be a big deal for performance.
But his CPU wouldn't be terrible or anything, especially if he overclocks it. He just wouldn't be getting the most out of that 144hz display.

Congrats TC, hope you have fun with that beast :)

I'm low key jelly since I haven't had a PC in months since my baby completely fried. I'm going to experience the joy of having a beast PC vicariously through you lol.

I have a 6 GB 1060 and it's pretty great. Can't play everything on super duper max settings but with defaults, I get good graphics and 0 stutters.
