You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

good to have you back! there was a nagging feeling a face was missing and i narrowed it down

playing anything good? i keep trying to slog through some narrative-driven games- beholder, kentucky route zero, pillars of eternity, the final station- but end up losing interest for some reason and go back to rocket league.

my friends will theoretically play destiny and tabletop simulator someday, but it's a lot of cat-herding. at least i have a live board game group going.

Oddly enough, I've gotten into Atelier Sophie, which is definitely one of those games where if you're not interested in the concept, you won't like it.

Also apparently series veterans dislike this game for being shallow in some aspects, and I can see why they like it.

Also some other games but I can't think of any notable mentions off the top of my head.

And yeah, I kinda forced myself to take a break from social media for awhile. I was saying some stupid shit based off of emotional impulses, and honestly I wasn't okay with my own behavior. So I just stopped and started focusing on improving myself.

I won't say it's been an amazing success, that I'm a changed person, or whatever. I'm still me, that fact hasn't changed. But I will say that I am proud of the improvements I've made (and the fact that I can say I'm proud of myself is, itself, evidence of an improvement) and I hope to be my best.

For the record, it turns out that when you believe that you deserve to be called a bad person and just accept that, you're really not doing anything positive for yourself - if anything, it just reinforces the negative behavior, like a masochistic downward spiral. "I deserve to be hurt, so I will do things that make me get hurt" sort of thing.

without knowing too much about atelier, i feel lucky and sad to not currently be sucked into a long-form rpg. most recently, persona 5 took over my life for almost a month.

i used to get in these super toxic arguments on reddit for no real reason (under a different username). it felt pretty shitty, and i've been trying to use the internet differently since then. prioritizing having fun and being positive over proving a point. knowing when to back out of an argument has been key- i'll save the long winded arguments for people i'm actually close to
