Really tough class on German history (from the start of the German Empire thru WWII) where I got an A-. Was pretty sure the professor and teacher assistant hated my guts for some reason. But I aced all the written essays.

Probably Microbiology. Everything was graded on a curve, and I busted my ass to get an A in it.

My numerical methods class last semester. I was set to average a B unless I aced the final - given my performance on the midterm was unlikely.

I dumbly got stumped on a question about LU decomposition (pretty much got to the point that just to do the work I had to actually derive LU decomposition itself as a concept): that was the biggest hurdle but I'll be damned if I didn't do it. Aced the final, got the A.

Really fucking proud of myself on that.

Professor also loved my work for the class in general. The assignments usually involved coding and since we had to turn in the programs usually got to be 10-20 pages long. Apparently a lot of people were messy or disorganized because she gushed over how neat mine were.

We were using MATLAB to code. It wasn't a language she taught in class and wasn't something I was familiar with so I practically taught myself. I suppose that's another reason I'm proud of that A.

A+ in Japanese. You have to learn three different writing systems - four if you count romanji. I was overwhelmed at first but I adapted quickly through study. Mind you this was elementary Japanese so it wasn't difficult. I'm taking Japanese classes because it coincides with my major so I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone.

I begin the intermediate level during the fall semester. Until then I'll continue to work on my GE's.

I've heard this class is insanely hard especially at my university. What is so hard about it?

In my class, it was that we were thrust into these really hard C programming assignments where you were basically given a little demo operating system and had to write code in C that would give this little demo operating system a new function, like the ability to schedule processes based on different algorithms.

The hardest aspect was that in the previous class, the C programming hadn't been that hard, then it was suddenly a huge increase in difficulty with no teaching that was supposed to bridge that gap for us.

I haven't gone to college yet but I got an A in my English GCEs and I did fuck all for the preparation. My English improved so much from just talking to people on internet forums I even impressed myself.

Also, I got an A* in CS.

Study of Steven Spielberg Films. One 3 hour night class a week and we would watch his movies, talk about them after, and a few papers.

Despite my reading disability, I cleverly skirted by English Literature II with an A.

This group project-heavy class where the teacher grouped me (on purpose) with two of the students he thought were the hardest to deal with. That, and we were being documented by a local TV station (kinda like a segment on classes with both exchange and local students).

Busted my ass for that A but it was worth it
