I'm on your side, but to be fair, mrduckbear didn't say we should ban guns. I was expecting him to say we should "ban assault rifles" (in ignorant reference to available semi-automatics that are not in anyway assault rifles) and was prepared to school the ignorance. But he simply stated that no one needs to "have like 20 guns." (Which I disagree with as well. This is America, I can have as many guns as I want.)

I mean, I agree, but we can't own assault rifles as civilians in the first place. Unless you have a Class 3 Permit Tax Stamp allowing you to own a burst or fully automatic weapon, which has an extremely thorough background check, sometimes a half-year waiting period, and the gun has to be designed before 1986. So no modern M4's, no H&K416s (although I plan on buying the semi-automatic version of that carbine someday, I love it so much), nothing like that. If you want newer higher-tech carbines and rifles, you're going to have to go the semi-automatic route. There is no legal way, at all, to own a modern one in this country.

you see, what im doing here is forcing the anti gun people to say what they actually mean: they want a blanket gun ban. banning any sort of rifle, semi auto or otherise, makes zero sense when you consider that its the least conspicuous guns of all (handguns) that are the real killers.

what they want is a blanket gun ban, and that is an argument that falls flat on its own.

guns make people feel a different way...that's just how it is. whenever they think someone is threatening them or even give them the evil eye, they'll use the self defense argument ever since george zimmerman got off. let's be honest, people would rather use their arsenal for OFFENSE and NOT defense..they go for the attack first rather than wait for it but the law stops them.

Yes we're all taught a lot of things but i have this ugly feeling that a gun owner would rather take a life than not to because that's what guns are for..to take a life..that's why there's so many people who hunt for sport. and if animals were extinct, humans are next if it not for the law.

Here you go using false information again. While George Zimmerman beginning to follow Trayvon Martin was a stupid thing to do, he did not instigate violence, Trayvon did. TM had almost made it to his house and decided to turn around and confront GZ. When he got to where GZ was, he yelled at him and knocked him to the ground and started pounding his head into a concrete curb and that's when GZ shot him. GZ is guilty of being an idiot for getting himself put in that situation but TM is the one who attacked and got shot for it, therefore GZ did not commit any crimes. This was determined in the trial and corroborated by the woman that TM was on the phone with at the time.

i'm sorry are we talking about the same george zimmerman who's bragging about killing someone and getting off scot free many years later? your basis is, trayvon took the bait which gave him a good reason to shoot..now that'll make it easy for every gun owner to bait someone so they can finally use their gun.
