With the way that Trump is running the country, along with the Republicans allowing him to get away with being corrupted, is there any real reason why most people should even stay in America anymore?

I happen to be single with no children to raise, so that definitely helps people like myself.

I'm an American-born citizen, black male.

But yeah, I thought that things were normal until Trump won.

yes. the reason is that it's way harder than you think to move to another country. also, trump can only be president for 7 more years at most. doesn't make sense to uproot your life for something temporary.

I can think of a few. Its not that easy to just up and move out of country.

It'll probably cost a fair bit of money. If you don't make much money it could be prohibitively expensive.

You can't just hop on a plane and travel to another country, you have to have a passport, and if you want to work there or stay there for more than a short visit, you'll need to get a visa or something (unless you're lucky and have dual citizenship)

People have family and friends in this country and may not know anyone in another country.

Trump won't be president forever. We'll probably get a new president in a couple of years. I doubt he'll be a two-term president.

I mean, youre free to go if youre not happy. Why are you still here and not on a plane to wherever you feel like youd be happier?

Trump just brought things to the surface because he's too cocky or stupid to lie properly. The American dream was essentially sold off between Reagan and Clinton.

Go to Asia. If you have a degree you could easily go live there long term teaching English. You'll eventually want to move back though.

My Aussie friend keeps stating I should move down there with her.... and claims that if the US takes the worst turns imaginable, I'll always have a place with her. She makes me happy.

But we need to sit still until the end of 2018. If in November, the Republicans somehow crush everything electionwise, I think it is fair time to abort. Reason being that our country is being overrun by people who are rigging the whole system to the point that there's no way we would be able to get a democracy back. If the Russians hacked our elections once, who is going to stop them from doing it again? The Trump Administration would never try to stop them. I see no proof of it and this investigation just shows you they are too allied with Russia. With Trump's administration running the country, there's no one to prevent outside forces from coming in and sweeping us out.... especially when Trump has control of Congress (and he does. McConnell and Ryan sure love creamsicles)

So yeah. Wait until 2018 comes to an end. Things will either turn around real fast, or things will go to the point of no return. If the latter, evacuate.

If you leave America where do you plan to go

If you go to Europe you have to deal with the EU, people speaking different languages every five miles, and many American ideas dont exist there (1st amendment rights, double jeapordy, others), and all the current issues they are dealing with.

If you go to Asia then also plan on being seen as a foreigner and outsider for the rest of your life no matter what

America still has the now somewhat ironic stigma of being the "land of opportunity". Most heavy manufacturing, automotive, and electronics are outsourced overseas. About the only thing you guys can reliably produce is bad "reality" t.v. Unless you live in a favourable tax bracket, maybe it's time to consider moving elsewhere.

If you just speak English without a high level marketable skill, good luck at making a permanent shift to another country, it wont be an easy path. Getting a work visa is one thing - emigrating though can be extreme. Just prepare for the fact that a lot of other countries are even more racist and/or xenophobic - the spotlight is just on the U.S. to a much higher degree.

Dude for real, every country is ****ed in their own, slightly different way.

Except the ones that a really ****ed. But for real if you're in a semi-modern city, then most of the world is pretty much here. There's usually a Mcdonalds and a Subway somewhere and internet.

Of course, this is just what I see and hear from others. I haven't left the country :/

There are a few that are wayyyyyyyyyy better than the others but citizenship is very hard. Mostly the ones without taxes.

I find it kind of sad that only skilled people get to have a better quality of life. Your skill level shouldn't determine what kind of human rights you're given in this world.
