Mostly because of religion, especially the judaism ones paints us as different, special being than other creatures on this world.

(A look at other animals DNA even something very different like an earthworm basically break that views because how much parts are similar to us)

Proof? While I ageee an argument can be made the universe is a living essence that has protected and steered us since inception.

On topic: I'm disappointed it's only a Nihlism topic. I fully expected the view to be on humans destroying ourselves and never unifying enough to make the major progress.
