Gotta wonder how they expect people to believe they won't block or throttle when they just spent big bucks solely for the ability to block and throttle.

Or is there another reason for wanting NN repealed besides the ability to block and throttle that I'm unaware of?

If you ask the trump supporters here they did it because they believe in fairness of competition and think repealing NN will help foster an environment of competition...theyre doing it for us.

...yes theyve really said that.

or perhaps they don't plan on blocking or throttling you (the average consumer) but they want to throttle people who use up a lot of bandwidth if those kind of sites can't pay more for how much they use (i.e. netflix)

Of course they won't. First they need to create a sense of security and then they will block and throttle. Wait until its not expected.

I think I might be safe because Comcast isn't a monopoly where I live, there's also Cablevision and time Warner here.

Yes giving the ISP monopoly more power will improve competition, that makes sense.

I've never had issues with Comcast, but I think it has something to do with me being like their only major customer in my area.

And ISPs will have more power over them.

What we need to do is make them disclose how much bandwidth actually costs. Estimates vary from 5 cents to 25 cents per gigabyte.

That way its clear how much the markup is theyre trying to take. I guarantee its huge at this point.

As a consumer you should be able to compare such costs in making a decision.

So why would a company like comcast want to encourage competition? How does that help then?
