hungover from my family christmas events yesterday

i'm tired and i don't want to talk on the phone or do any work lmao

i wish my company offered more days off for christmas but the nature of our business doesn't allow it. sigh.

i like my job a lot but i hate working in an office and i hate leaving my house. that's usually what i complain about. or funny posts about people that get upset with me because they don't like a decision i made on a claim.

the nature of my job is very fickle because you're talking about a job where i'm the person who reviews the facts and decides whether or not someone else's insurance policy is going to pay you for your damages or bodily injury. and you deal with all types of people.

so i like my job but there's a lot of frustration that comes along with it.

Its so goddamn slow today at work. Quiet, too.

Atill on holiday break. It's been a little over a week and it has flown by. I'm going back to my house/leaving my hometown tomorrow. It went by so fast. We get back to school next tuesday.

well we do deny a lot of claims because people don't understand legal liability and just assume because they got injured on someone's property or someone else's property caused damage to their property that makes the owner automatically responsible for everything. which is not legally factual.

now i understand WHY people don't know this but when you explain it to them they literally will say we're "using legal loopholes" to not pay them and we're using "legalese" to avoid giving them a settlement.

even on claims we accept for settlement some people aren't satisfied with the amount we evaluate their claim at and offer to them because attorneys have advertised HUGE settlements from insurance companies for injuries that aren't even similar. but people think if insurance is involved they're going to be getting some giant payday for their scratch or something.

it is really difficult because most people are too emotionally invested in the claim that they don't listen to what you're saying and they just scream at you constantly and call you horrible names because you work for an insurance company.

there's this image of the "big bad insurance company" and that's simply because people a) don't understand what their insurance covers and don't ask until they have a claim, b) have a misunderstanding about what they're legally entitled to and c) they think we deny as many claims as we can to avoid paying which isn't true.

Defrosted chicken for dinner
Gone on Gamefaqs
Texted back and forth with my husband in terms of the dinner he wants when he gets home from work, and made sure he is bringing more chicken home

I still need to work on dishes, laundry, straightening up our Christmas gifts etc., and make dinner

I took off Friday the 22nd all through new years. Being in sales is a bummer, we don't get the whole Christmas to new years week off, so I had to burn a bunch of PTO too, whereas my brother is off from 24th through 2nd.

It's going well. We're still in Scottsdale until Friday. Had to get up early this morning for a formal family picture, but then went back to the house and napped.

I feel kind of the same. Although, it has been a little slow and will probably be slow for the rest of the day. I'm a counselor at a drug and alcohol program. A lot of people don't tend to show up for appointments around the holidays because they don't want to enter a program during this time or they are busy out getting drunk and using drugs. I have a lot to do this week anyway so I'm hoping it stays slow.

do you have a job or just have the day off for the holidays still? or are you a homemaker?

We're off today and New Years day.
