Board 8 > 1 hour in and Star Ocean 5 feels like am elaborate RPG Maker game.

If the production value wasn't too high to be one and it didn't have VA work, every facet of this game so far has progressed like some dudes made it back in the early 2000s with preset tools. No cutscenes (not even to open the game!), no plot, copy and paste look, and tutorials all randomly dumped together for a half dozen systems.

It's kind of amazing that this is the game.

It's all Gears of War walk and talk. No actual scenes, just dialogue while everyone stands around in the same way you would if you just left the game running. It's like an MMO quest...but that's the game.

I just got a 40 second cutscenes of the girl waking me up in the inn. First cutscene so far.

Saying this game feels like it was made in RPG Maker is not an exaggeration. Maybe a 2025 version, but nonetheless.

On a sidenote, Speedtree should have opted to make SE strip their logo from the game.

At least this one gets zoomed in on like an orc in Middle Earth, which is more than the other side got. Probably because she's wearing fetish gear.
