I'm of the opinion there will be a significant time jump in 9 and it will start off with her funeral. 8 started off 5 minutes after TFA right?

I'm not sure about the funeral, but a time jump would make sense/feels necessary. With Holdo now gone, and obviously Leia will be too, I imagine Poe will become the Resistance leader?

It would have been better. It is not like they would need to CGI in that much. Most of it would be reshooting a few scenes near the end with Dern in her place.
